Home Town: PALMYRA, PA
Unit at Loring: RADIO MECHANIC
First Day at Loring: MET A FEW FRIENDS THAT WERE SHIPPED TO LORING BEFORE ME... I THINK IT WAS MAY '53.
Most Memorable Experience: CAN'T THINK OF A FAVORITE...I ENJOYED BEING WITH AND DOING THINGS WITH MY FELLOW RADIO MECHANICS...WE PLAYED SOFTBALL, BOXED IN OUR ROOMS AND TOOK MANY TRIPS TO KEEGAN WHERE ONE OF MY BUDDIES MET AND EVENTUALLY MARRIED THE DAUGHTER OF A SALOON OWNER
Last Day at Loring: I WAS MARRIED FOR MY LAST 14 MONTHS AT LORING... MY WIFE'S BROTHER AND A FRIEND DROVE UP TO PICK ME UP... I WAS VERY ANXIOUS TO LEAVE...
What did you do after Loring? WORKED FOR 39 YEARS AND RETIRED FROM ARMSTRONG WORLD INDUSTRIES IN LANCASTER, PA...AFTER RETIREMENT MOVED TO PALMYRA, PA IN 2001..MY WIFE PASSED AWAY IN 2009...
