Unit at Loring: 42nd periodic maintenance group
First Day at Loring: My first day was very busy getting acquainted with the new guys and my place to room at. It was an exciting day to be assigned to the 42nd periodic maintenance group.
Most Memorable Experience: We had a party at the officers club one evening and I had driven my old 39 lincoln Zephyr to the party because it was a fairly long walk to the club from my barracks and it was cold. On the way back to the barracks a number of the guys wanted a ride so believe it or not I got Thirteen of them in and on the car. They road on the fenders and roof and jammed inside. We all had a good laugh that night.
Last Day at Loring: It was a happy day because I was ready to go home and start my new life as a savilian and was looking forward to picking up the girl I wanted to merry from New Brunswick Canada.
What did you do after Loring? After nine years of marriage with my wife from New Brunswick she died and I remarried a local gal and had two Daughter's and six Grand children. I did service repairs at Sear's for thirty four year's and now retired to work at home on home repairs and enjoying my hobbies such as wood working, using the computer, photography, gardening. The rest of the time I'm enjoying time with my family and being involved with our church.
