Hometown: Buffalo, NY Unit at Loring: 23rd ADS First day at Loring: We found out that none of our furniture had arrived, and had to scrounge foe a single bed and a table and chairs. Furniture did not arrive for 3 mo. and then in an open truck in the rain. Most memorable experience: Watching my first loading of a nuke in the B-52. It was a dummy, but the T Sgt in charge of the loading didn't tell me that and kept making comments about all the things that were going wrong Last Day at Loring: Mixed feelings, I knew I was going to miss the place, but my wife hated the military life and couldn't wait to leave.
What did you do after Loring: I worked as a chemical engineer for Union Carbide until I retired in 1991. Most of my time was spent in project management and national and international sales.
