Home Town: East Northport, NY
Unit at Loring: 42 CES
First Day at Loring: Exciting. Arrived with fellow airman from Sheppard AFB. Huge base.
Most Memorable Experience: The friendships and teamwork from my unit and the other units. We had a great time at Loring. I loved the weekends up in Edmonston. Lot of fun times there.
Last Day at Loring: Slow and easy. Received orders to Pleiku Vietnam three weeks prior. Finished my processing in the morning and packed for my two week leave at home.
What did you do after Loring? I completed one tour in Vietnam. After Vietnam I received my orders back to LORING. While on leave from Vietnam I became engaged. I was discharged one year later. And married one year later. I worked for a number of years in the electrical field and in 1979 started my own Electrical Contracting business, which I still own and operate today. The AF has taught me leadership and quality skills which I incorporate in my business to this day. And I owe my success to that training.
