Hometown:  Brighton, MI

Unit at Loring:  42nd Combat Defense Squadron

First day at Loring:

Surprising, entertaining and full of wonder. Busy in-processing not much activity til evening, then the snack bar at East Loring.

Most memorable experience:

Overall assignment and the meeting of friends, some of which are still so to this day

Last Day at Loring:

Hurried, actually pulled from post to out-process immediately for SEA

What did you do after Loring:

Immediately after Loring I became a police officer for the City of Howell, then I worked as an ambulance driver/attendant (very rewarding job), then to the Milan Police Dept. I got my BS degree while at MPD and then was accepted by ATF. Did not like it and went to work for Detroit Edison (now DTE Energy) at the Fermi II Nuclear Power Plant, I rose the ranks and eventually became Administrator for the Dept. (Asst Director). I was responsible for writing the physical Security Plan, other Security plans and all procedures for the plant, from construction through to and including Operation. Retiring from there in 1989 with a golden handshake. After that I did various things, which really didnt last long. I physically retired in April 2007 and have been on Social Security since. I was close to going to the seminary to become a Catholic Priest, but illness struck and took over its stead.
