Home Town: Crichton, WV
Unit at Loring: 42nd A&E
First Day at Loring: Kind of scary, first real assignment after tech school, and then being assigned to a huge SAC base. Lots to learn..
Most Memorable Experience: No special stories, I loved the out of doors events that Maine offered me, from picking potatoes to hunting in the north woods. I made good friends there, went thru some good ORI's, was TDY for a few months in support of the "Young Tiger" deploy in assist of the Buff bombing mission in Viet Nam.. Just good memories, I'm sure there were bad ones as well, but I only remember the  good times...
Last Day at Loring: Kind of exciting, kind of scary, driving off on a long journey in my 1961 or 2 Corvair, not knowing the job market and wondering if I made the right decision to get out of the military.
What did you do after Loring? I continued to work in the electronics field for small companies and in 1968 I joined what would later be named General Dynamics and stayed with them for 37 years. I retired in 05 and now live in the country, in West Virginia.
