Hometown:  Elmira, NY

Unit at Loring:  42FMS Fabrication

First day at Loring:

The first thing I was told: Forget everything you learned in Tech. School, we're gonna teach you the right way, the way SAC does it.

Most memorable experience:

Last Day at Loring:

Last day was 23 Dec. 66. Snow was falling, made it to Presque Isle just in time. we were the last plane to leave for the next week. They had 3 feet of snow the first 24 hours after I left.

What did you do after Loring:

Retired in 2008, but moved back home to Elmira, NY  in May 2010 and went to work for Sikorsky Helicopter (Schweizer Aircraft) until layoffs came to 400 of us older, experienced troops. (Newest in the UAW got laid off first and I was #275) Now permanently retired at age 67........I guess!!
