Unit at Loring:  42 AMMS

First day at Loring:

May 1967 It snowed 6 inches. I was walking around in processing wearing only short sleaves.I thought Where am I..? I had heard that summer  at Loring only came on  July 4th.

Most memorable experience:  

It snowed a total of 212 inches the winter of 67-68. It hardly melted.  One day the temp went down to -37. Good thing we had parkas.

Last Day at Loring:  

Left at lot of good friends.  Was heading for Kadena, Okinawa. Operation Arc Light

 

What did you do after Loring:

Went To OTS 72  Navigator   Taught high school 30 years  Earth and Space Science at North Hills High School. Retired   Worked in Robotics for 20 years  Bell and Howell Mailmobiles.   Bases stationed  Wright Pat 68,Fairchild 69-70 Kadena 69.Chanute 66-67 Loring 67-68   MAT Degree University Of Pittsburgh  Education 70
