Ron Longo, CE Compound  (From Profile Photos)
Home Town: Schenectady NY
Unit at Loring: 42nd CES
First Day at Loring: Extreme overcrowding in the CE barrack meant that they put me in the VOQ for 5 nights.  Sweet!  Maid service plush room.  First night in the barracks was a different story.  I was put in a room with a gentleman from Kentucky and a Yankee was not to his liking.  He awoke me by turning my bunk upside down with me still in it.  We became friends and often laughed about it later.
Most Memorable Experience: Fire inspection's on East Base with LT Shaffler.  Getting a grader stuck in the snow clearing our parking lot.  The Rendevous.  Cooking duck in the barracks.  Madawaska.  Fort Fairfield.
Last Day at Loring: Bitter sweet.  Leaving to start a new life but leaving many friends and civilians I had become close to.  A civilian named Dick Daigle from Long Lake was a special person, as well as Peggy Cook my supervisor.
What did you do after Loring? Letter Carrier for the PO for 36 years.  Sold Real Estate for 26 years.  Teaching Defensive Driving for Nation Safety and Healty Council in Albany NY.  Married my high school sweetheart and raised 3 beautiful kids.
