First Day at Loring: Arrived from basic training in December 1967 and it was cold. Most Memorable Experience: Had a great time there as the summer months were short and winters were long and cold. Hunting and fishing was great. As a POL guy I new the entire base. I left behind a lot of friends two of them went to Thailand with me. A couple of sad notes a B-52 and a KC-135 crashed taking off when I was stationed there. All of the B-52 grew died. I have a lot of pictures and news clippings from my time there. Last Day at Loring: Left in December 1969 for Korat, Thailand. After two winters I was ready for the warm weather. What did you do after Loring? I left Loring went to Korat, Thailand for a year and finish up my four year military career at McGuire AFB. Spent most of my 38 years in Fire Protection (building sprinkler systems). I retired in November 2012 in sunny Sarasota, Florida. If you agree, people can contact you at (email): NormPaine@comcast.net |
