Hometown: Hampden, Maine Unit at Loring: 42ND CES First day at Loring: Loring AFB was not my choice of assignment. My first day was a bummer. My wife and I were not prepared for 12 inches of snow still on the ground. I had just returned from a 12 month tour in Vietnam and my wife and I and two children were not prepared for the cold wninter month of March. But we soon acclimated and adjusted to the true "way life should be". Most memorable experience: The entire time that I lived and worked at Loring was my favorite story. I worked and met many wonderful people, both millitary and civilian Last Day at Loring: I retired from the USAF in August 1980. We moved to Limestone where we lived until 1997. From 1980 on I worked for the Federal government in Maine for 14 years and New Mexico for 9 more years. I am now retirted living in Hampden, Maine.
What did you do after Loring: I have traveled at least once a year to Europe for the past 20 years and enjoy visiting my Mother in El Paso, Texas as often as I can.
