Hometown:  Tampa, FL

Unit at Loring:  42 A&E Sqdn

First day at Loring:

Hard to remember, but learning the whereabouts of the flight line and ways to get there. You could actually walk from the barracks, depending on the depth of Snow of course.

Most memorable experience:

That myself & a buddy, John Claypool were the Designers of the 42nd A&E Sqdn Patch. We were both in the Turrets Section.

Last Day at Loring:

A little scary. I was headed home to Tampa, FL driving a '54 Plymouth We'd just replaced the engine on. (It actually took 3 cars to make it, also a '40 Plymouth & a '52 Chevy)

What did you do after Loring:

Graduated from University of South Florida, then worked as an insurance adjuster then a Job Corps recruiter. Finally found my real career and became an Exhibits/Display Maker at NAS Pensacola, FL. When I retired from that I ran my own business doing the same thing for several years. Now I'm retired & spend my time building Models, Giving Lighthouse & Art Gallery Tours.
