Home Town: new gloucester, maine
Unit at Loring: 27 fighter squadron
First Day at Loring: If I remember correctly, I arrived at Loring in October of 1966. It was a cool fall day. Had a little trouble finding the Squadron. Walked a mile or two before I found the 27 FIS. I'am a typical male and didn't  ask for directions.
Most Memorable Experience: A crash landing or a F-106 on the runway. Landing gear failed. Pilot did a very good job of landing the Fighter. Pilot wasn't injured.
Last Day at Loring: Very surprised that I was asked if I would like to be discharged a few month early. Reason being so many airmen were returning from Vietnam. I accepted the offer and was a civilian before I really new it.
What did you do after Loring? Married in 1968 and raised 4 children. My oldest just retired from the Air Force after 20 years.. Very proud of him. I am now retired from a career of electrical field technician. A career in electronics that I learned at Keesler AFB in Mississippi.
