![]() Note from Webmaster: Lt Col Wright (Ret) is a very humble man. You should know that he is the recipient of the Air Force Cross. Please read about this very courageous individual in his defense of Phan Rang Air Base, Vietnam. The following information is published by Loring Remembers for historic record. Lt Col Wright would not have posted this information himself. Thanks to Larry Borders for letting me know about this true hero of the Security Police. Finally, I should note that Lt Col Wright donated the AF Cross Medal to the Security Police Museum at Lackland AFB soon after it's award, as he believes it belongs to all security force personnel.

Hometown: Berkeley, Ca Unit at Loring: 42nd Combat Defense Sq
First day at Loring: Snowy! Arrived only to be told that I was supposed to be in Texas in three days to attend Air Police School. Immediately turned around and drove back to Texas from where I had just come. Impressed by the fact that the Air Force was capable of such really impressive screw-ups since former experience in the army had left me with the impression that most SNAFUs were quite routine and predictable. Most memorable experience: In four years too many to tell. Last Day at Loring: Snowy! situation was one of split feelings. On the one hand was going on a months leave followed next by assignment to Viet-Nam.
What did you do after Loring: Remained in the Air Force and retired with a combined total, enlisted and commissioned, of 29 years and 4 months. Senior investigator with State of California, Licensing supervisor and College prof. Still teach, part-time. If you agree, people can contact you at (email): |
