Home Town: Peshtigo, Wis.
Unit at Loring: 42nd Transportation Sq.
First Day at Loring: Arrived during winter at night, the car from Loring that was scheduled to pick me up at the Airport had a flat and I was stuck waiting for quite some time before it finally arrived. It was driven by Roger Weller, and we went on to become very good friends.
Most Memorable Experience: Msgt. John Allen and I went hunting together with one of the civilian workers from Loring and we spent about 4 hours lost in the Maine woods.
Last Day at Loring: Sad, I had made some wonderful friends at Loring, and it was hard to leave them.
What did you do after Loring? Separated from the Air Force, Got married, moved to Indiana and I am now a United Methodist pastor.
