Hometown:  Graafton, Va.

Unit at Loring:  42 Supply/LGSF

First day at Loring:

Arrived there in Nov 71, but was familar with the base as I lived in Blaine, Me and had been on the base many times. Meeting my new co-workers and supervisors was great as they all made me feel very welcomed.

Most memorable experience:

The idea that snowsnakes existed during the winter months.  It was like an orientation for any new arrivals that had lived their lives in the south. We would convince them there were white poisionous snakes that lived in the snow.

Last Day at Loring:

Apr 85, sad because I was leaving so many friends and my family behind, yet excited about going to my new assignment - Comiso AS.

What did you do after Loring:

Served a remote tour at Comiso AS (3rd year of building stage), eight years at HQ TAC (later known as Air Combat Command) and  retired in 1994 as a SMSgt. Worked in the private sector from 1994-2007 and am now retired.
