Home Town: Manchester, CT
Unit at Loring: 42nd AMS/PMEL
First Day at Loring: terrifying...it was my first duty station after tech school.  I knew absolutely no one and had no idea what my future held.
Most Memorable Experience: The canoe races in the drainage ditches every spring, or possibly the canoe trips to the Allagash.
Last Day at Loring: Celebrate! Truthfully, I belonged to a CB radio club.  The base open house was on the day before I left, and the club volunteered to help with traffic.  I spent several hours directing traffic, went to a party the club had after the open house was over, went back to my barracks room and got four hours sleep before I left the next morning on my way to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska
What did you do after Loring? "Spent 8 more years in the Air Force.  Cross trained into crew chief on fighters and spent my last 4 years at MacDill AFB, FL working on F-16's.  Got married in 1986 and left the Air Force.  Had three kids.  Got divorced in 1994, and remarried in 1999.  Worked as an auto mechanic for 6 years before learning locksmithing and safe cracking.  Owned my own locksmithing business for 7 years before selling it to the person I work for now.

My second wife and I have been together for 14 years.  My two sons both joined the Marines and served in Iraq.  Both are now in college working towards their degrees.  My daughter married out of high school and I have three grandchildren."
