Unit at Loring: 24th SPS
First Day at Loring: "Remember my first shift was midnight shift. I was given an m-1 carbine because the armorer said that we were short on m-16. I remember that the snow was piled higher the than the highest point of the B-52's I was guarding. The weather was a minus 70 with the wind chill factor. I had fun times at the bars outside the base. Good memories. Hope I can find some of my old SP buddies.

Most Memorable Experience: I was out processing and decided to take a short cut through the tunnels underneath the base. I slipped and hit my head on the concrete. I was so disorientated that I couldn't find my way out for a few hours.  
Last Day at Loring:
What did you do after Loring? Retired as an E-7 in 1994 and worked as a claims rep for social security until 2012 now fully retired at 61.
