Home Town: Lawrence, Ma
Unit at Loring: 42nd Field Maintenance
First Day at Loring: December 8th,1971. Drove thru a blizzard to get to the base. Couldn't get over how much snow there was on top of the farm buildings until the spring when I found out the potato houses had had large berms built onto them. 4 years later, would work for Dan Gallagers farm outside the East Gate.
Most Memorable Experience: My first week at Loring, I saw an older gentleman cleaning the floors at the Whispering Pines Service Club. His name was Andrew Levesque. Four years later I married his youngest daughter Susanne. We have been married for 38 years.
Last Day at Loring: Very hot July. Thought, how would they get along without ME!!!! they did.
What did you do after Loring? Joined the Army National Guard in 1976. Worked for Fox Buick-Pontiac in Caribou. Moved to Iowa in 1978. Worked in several factories, in 1987 started at Goodyear. 26and a half years later I am still there.  Transferred to the 224th Engineer Battalion of the Iowa National Guard. Like a lot of units, we were activated for Desert Storm and were deployed to Rose Barracks Vilseck,Germany for 6 months. I retired as an E-6 in 1994. This October I start Collecting My Guard Retirement with all the benefits. 22 years well spent.
