Home Town: Ashburnham, MA
Unit at Loring: 42 FMS and FTD DET 204
First Day at Loring: It was early May 1979...The bus I was riding broke down in the Hanesville woods.  We waited for hours for a cab to come to bring us to the Caribou bus station.  I was surprised to see remnants of snow on the ground, I remember thinking that there must of been a freak snow storm or something because why else would there be any snow left...little did I know.
Most Memorable Experience: Too many to choose just one. In a general sense though, working long hours in less then comfortable conditions (understatement) all the while finding a way to enjoy what we were doing. Even in the worst of times I remember laughing a lot.
Last Day at Loring: Sad, I unfortunately had gotten divorced that year and I was leaving my kids behind.
What did you do after Loring? Nothing that brought as much pride and sense of purpose as my time at Loring did.
