Hometown:  Altoona, Pa

Unit at Loring:  42 SPS K-9

First day at Loring:

It was bitter cold and if memory serves me right, an IG team had landed the day before, so getting to barracks was a chore in itself. I didnt know my way around anywhere and everyone was in a tizzy. I knew all about IG's after that. Could almost predict to the day when they would hit.

Most memorable experience:

No one story stands out in my mind. There were plenty of good and bad times for all. Winters were too cold, summer wasnt long enough and whatever the season inbetween wasnt even worth being there.

Last Day at Loring:

Pretty quiet. My folks came in from California and we drove my car back there and on to New Mexico before I left for Turkey.

What did you do after Loring:

I went to school for a bit, that didnt work too well. All that new math I was lost. I moved to New Mexico and started getting my life sorted out. Became a police officer with Belen P.D.,then took up truck driving and been at that ever since.
