Home Town: presque isle, maine
Unit at Loring: 42nd bombwing
First Day at Loring: I arrived at loring  sometime in the winter (maybe Jan-Feb?). I was nervous and excited to be at my first PCS since I graduated out of Chanute Tech. in Illinois.
Most Memorable Experience: My best memories about Loring was actually a TDY to Guam, Anderson AFB, with Sgt. Stephan Lehnert. We became best friends, I was his best man in Kansas when he got married and many , many more memories including our drive from Maine to Kansas and back. I loved that man and always admired his spunk. The rest of the guys filled in a different time in my life when Vietnam was a dirty word and we fought hard to understand all the terrible things said about us. Eventually it took its toll on all and we drifted apart . I remember you guys, I still miss you, and if you remember anything at all, remember 125 High Street, Caribou Maine. Our refuge and our home away from it all.
Last Day at Loring: My last day was July 21, 1975. I was eager to go home but felt lost without my family of friends I had known for the last 3-4 years. To this day, I still wonder about Frank Myers,Stephan Lehnert, Charlie Allen, Marc Irving, and all the rest that served as "92250's or Protective Equipment Specialist on the flight lines.
What did you do after Loring? I have been employed at the University of Maine @ Presque Isle for almost 30 years now as a Sci/Rsrch/Spec. Another fine name for it would be a Glorified Farmer. I have been involved in ministry and jail house ministries and much more. I have been married for 28 years to the same beautiful woman, and have 4 boys and two girls. All grown and college educated except one.
