Hometown:  Parker, CO

Unit at Loring:  42nd CE

First day at Loring:  My tech sergeant took me on a crazy ride, in a fire truck, on a dirt road, through the woods near the Q area. Saw a fox and moose. Oh boy!

Most memorable experience:   I was assigned to the flight line fire department. One night, during a snow storm whiteout, we had to go out to the runway to find a civilian aircraft that just made an emergency landling. I was the first person to locate the aircraft. It had landed safely and the passengers were pretty happy to be on the ground.

Last Day at Loring:   I was happy to have served out my tour and start my new life, which turned out to be somewhat bumpy at first. It was sad to say good bye to a lot of good people. Unfortunately I have lost touch with most of them.

What did you do after Loring: College, marriage, children, work...the whole deal. I have been truly blessed. My 4 grandchildren are the latest blessings in my life.
