Home Town: Buffalo, NY
Unit at Loring: 42 Transportation Sq. Motor Pool
First Day at Loring: I could believe the airport when I first landed, I thought it was a gas station and we needed fuel!  A bus from from the squadron was there to pick me up along with a few other airman.  It was very surreal.  I couldn't believe how desolate and open the area appeared.  It was quite an adjustment living in the womens barracks with all the assoicated drama!  It was sure nice to be right across the way from the NCO club thought!
Most Memorable Experience: Hanging with my best friend Harry Blackburn and driving around in his big green stationwagon.  At least that is what I remember! He was always there for me on a Saturday.
Last Day at Loring: My last day, cold and very snowy.  It was to be a very long and adventurous drive to Seattle in a 1967 VW Bug, on our way to a new duty station, Elmendorf AFB.
What did you do after Loring? Long ago are my boring Loring days, from there to Elmendorf AFB. Stayed in Anchorage for awhile after the AF working on the North Slope of Alaska.  At present I am with the USDA Forest Service in the Southeast.
