Home Town: Racine, WI
Unit at Loring: 42 CSG
First Day at Loring: Graduated from Basic Training and went DDA to Loring in late November 1972.  Flew in from Boston to Presque Isle.  When I landed it was like I was in the twilight zone.  No sponsor at the airport and I felt totally lost.
Most Memorable Experience: "The Limestone men's softball team traveling the state for tournaments.  Several trips downstate to participate in tournaments.  Two of our biggest achievements were winning the Fort Fairfield Potato blossom festival and coming in second in the state tournament.
Last Day at Loring: Hard to leave.  Met my future wife 2 weeks before leaving so I stayed a couple of extra weeks.
What did you do after Loring? Joined the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 1974.  Worked full time there as an AGR in various Comm Flt positions.  Retired in 2000 as a CMSgt.  After that I worked at the Zablocki VA hospital for 10 years as a computer specialist.  Retired fully now with 2 pensions.
