Home Town:    Stillwater, Maine

Unit at Loring:    42nd HQ's Sqdn

First Day at Loring:    Arrived Sept 4th, 1981. Gorgeous weather. I drove up from Bucksport, Maine  on the newly opened northbound lanes to I-95.

Most Memorable Experience:    Too many. The moose running onto the runway in front of a B-52 caused concern at HHQ's. Four Luftwaffe F-4F's of the German Air Force arriving out of nowhere on a Sunday morning after diverting from Goose Bay due to weather.

Last Day at Loring:    Departed for Galena, AK, remote site after five years.

What did you do after Loring?    Became Airfield Operations Superintendent at Beale AFB, CA after Galena. Participated in the retirement of the SR-71 Retired 1991 and moved back to Maine. Received my degree at the University of Maine and work there as an English as Second Language teacher, retiring to part time in 2014.
