Hometown:  Spanishburg, WV

Unit at Loring:  42nd Med Group/HOSP

First day at Loring:

I remember walking from the dorms to the base hospital, and amazed that there was still snow on the ground in May! Everyone I met was so down to earth and friendly...almost a family-like atmosphere.

Most memorable experience:

The bowhunting trip to Millinocket when my best friend got lost and my friends at the Maine Army National Guard come out to search the northern Maine woods for him. We later found him walking the highway back to the truck. He and I still laugh about it to this day....or at least I do!! SO many great memories of Loring!!!!!!!

Last Day at Loring:

I drove out the gate, pulled over along the road, and just sat in my car looking through the rear-view mirror at the Loring sign. I just wanted to taka moment to reflect on all the great times and memorable friendships I had made over the the three years I was there. Nothing ever compared to Loring!
