Hometown:  Fredericksburg, VA

Unit at Loring:  69th BMS

First day at Loring:

Since it was my first operational assignment as a Lt, I was like a deer in the headlights.  I didn't know the world existed past the northern extreme of I-95.

Most memorable experience:

I was dating my Sq/CC's daughter (in itself fraught with danger) and got my driver's license suspended just before the Christmas Ball, to which I was supposed to escort the beautiful daughter who will remain nameless.  When the CC found out, he (famous for his mediterranean temper) summoned me to his office and asked how I intended to get his daugher to the ball ("A sleigh and 8 reindeer"?!).  Needless to say my roommate and I hightailed it down to the courthouse and straightened things out pronto.

Oh, and we deployed to and fought in a war.  Led the first low-level combat mission in B-52 history. That was pretty exciting too.

Last Day at Loring:

Very memorable.  I got interrogated for a crime I didn't commit by OSI.  They came and searched my apartment hours before I left.  It all worked itself out about a year later, but that was great send-off from a first duty assignment.

What did you do after Loring:

Lots of stuff.  Went to pilot training, flew the C-5, separated from AD, hired by American Airlines, mil leave from AA, AGR...
