Hometown:  Quitman, GA

Unit at Loring:  42nd CHS/HQ (reprographics shop with Willie House)

First day at Loring:  Imagine a Georgia boy fresh out of AIT  at Ft. Belvoir Defense Mapping School with a light jacket, thin dress blue slacks, the short sleeve shirt, and the shiny black chloroform shoes. Arriving at Presque Isle airport glad to get off of the little crop duster and literally stepping into about four feet of snow! Then I had to ride to Loring in the back seat of Sgt. Cavallaro's VW bug. I thought I was in a bad dream. I'm 6 feet tall.

Most memorable experience:   Man there are soooo many ... I wish I could tell you the one with us in the the tunnels going from the NCO club to my dorm over the chow hall but I can't. ( Hi Summer Dehart if you are out there)  :)

Last Day at Loring:   Kinda sad, I had some good friends I was leaving  ( Willie House, Bob Alexander, Michael Dews,  to many to mention) but they helped me pack my u haul with all my stuff and after I sobered up ... I took off.

What did you do after Loring: Graduated college on the GI Bill, used VA to purchase my first house, and have been raising my family in Maryland.
