Home Town: Columbus, Ohio
Unit at Loring: 42nd MMS
First Day at Loring: I arrived on the base at around 1800 hours in December 1988.  It was already cold and there was plenty of snow.
Most Memorable Experience: Desert Storm.  We had about 4 days notice and it felt like the entire base was sent to Diego Garcia.  Many friends like Jack Jenkins, Jim "Mac" McDonald, Cody Gross and others helped to keep our sanity in check.  We had to take cover in the bomb bays of our B-52Gs during a typhoon and spend Christmas 1990 together on the island.
Last Day at Loring: Very rushed.  I had received a short notice PCS to Okinawa Japan since Loring was to be closed.  I remember leaving at around 2200 hours and driving in the center lane with my high beams on for the first 3 hours not wanting to hit a moose on my way south.
What did you do after Loring? After Loring I spent 3 years in Okinawa Japan.  Left the active duty for my guard unit in Springfield Ohio where I retired as a Master Sergeant.
