Hometown:  Chicago

Unit at Loring:  42 SPS

First day at Loring:

I was nervous.  It was my first assignment after Basic Training and Tech School.  It was a very big base and remembered how there weren't any perimeter fences, just forest.

Most memorable experience:

The first winter I was there, it snowed 16 inches in less than 12 hours.  The SP's had to park all their vehicles and we got out snowmobiles to respond to emergencies.  Most snow I had ever seen fall at one time.

Last Day at Loring:

Emotional.  I had been there for a year and a half and got orders to do a remote tour at osan AB, Korea.  I had some pretty close friends there and enjoyed my time there very much.  It was hard to leave.

What did you do after Loring:

I stayed in the AF almost 8 years ending up at Scott AFB, IL.  I left and went to work for a contracting company outside of Chicago.  I am married now for 7 years with a son and a daughter.
