Home Town: Fall River, Ma.
Unit at Loring: 42 OMS
First Day at Loring: My first assignment out of technical school, arrived in late May to great weather and great people.  That impression lasted until winter took over. Was on the KC side of the OMS house and actually made the front cover of Airman magazine in Jan 81, an ice covered figure ontop of a de-ice truck boom at the top of a KC tail fin.
Most Memorable Experience: Christmas 1982, -60 outside, car was frozen solid, battery dead, two feet of snow on the ground, six of us from OMS barracks walked through the snow to the chow hall and were treated by the base commander, wing commander and their staffs to a great meal and company
Last Day at Loring: March of 1981, was happy to leave after 4 winters, had a great time, met some great people, but the winters really wore me down.
What did you do after Loring? Went to the MASS Air National Guard full time for 15 years - 102 FW, finished with the RIANG with 22 years in before retiring to civilian life.  Work on computers now for a living instead of jets :)
