Home Town: Button , Maine
Unit at Loring: 42 SPS
First Day at Loring: I was scared and my parents brought me up and I was met at the main gate by a women from k-9 who as it turned out realized that they should have matched me up with someone from SPS instead. This was my first and only station right out of tech school at Lackland! She took me back to the kennel with her and made some calls and got it straightened out and from there it's a blur other than taking me to the chow hall to eat. I was 18 yrs old!
Most Memorable Experience: I remember one particular Christmas party where we all were partying just off base and they even provided a bus for transportation so no one would drink and drive. Everyone got wasted and one guy who I don't remember now had just come back from leave had asked me to take his duffle back with me and he would get it later; well needless to say it was lost in my locker for weeks before I or he remembered! What a hangover!!
Last Day at Loring: I remember my wife her brother and his girlfriend were all busy packing and cleaning to prepare for the house inspection  while I was running around getting all the paperwork completed to leave.
What did you do after Loring? Worked in security and worked at the Maine Correctional Center; now I'm a Magee at the Salvation Army and has been there for 20 plus years now
