Hometown:  Hopwood, PA

Unit at Loring:  42 SPS

First day at Loring:

Actually, my first memory involves landing at Presque Isle Airport. As we were on approach, it was night and the runway lights looked like they were straight in front of the plane, as if we were nose diving into the ground. Serious optical illusion, but we landed safe and sound. I thought "what a ride this place is gonna be."

Most memorable experience:

Can't say I have just 1 favorite. The dorms were more like a frat house. Something new every day. The guys I worked with when I first got on flight were totally out of control. Some of the highlights include kidnapping for beer, flight initiations, fish burials, stair rolling, and beach day on top of the barracks. Not to mention the Flight parties. Hard to think of just 1 story without thinking about all the others....

Last Day at Loring:

Happy, sad, ecstatic. Irregardless of how much you complain about all the bad things, its still hard to have to leave someplace you have spent 5 years of your life.
