Home Town: Petersburg, VA
Unit at Loring: 42 OMS, 69 BS, 42 FMS
First Day at Loring: This was my very first assignment as a 2d LT.  I lost my wallet en route to Maine and showed at the gate with no military ID card.  After some sweet talking to the guard and a phone call to my sponsor, I was allowed to sign in and check into billeting.  Scary, but looking back, great memories!
Most Memorable Experience: The club had put together a "cow patti Bingo" game that lasted a whole week.  Somewhere in the middle of that week, the cow broke loose and was running amuck around the base.  Hysterical!  Also, Moose Stompers Ball was a lot of fun.
Last Day at Loring: I'm not sure why, but I was really looking forward to leaving and starting again somewhere else (somewhere with a mall!)  I anxiously completed my outprocessing checklist and packed the wife up.  Looking at the main gate in the rear view mirror I realized that this place meant more to me than I had thought.  Loring was my favorite assignment of my 20 years and we made lasting frienships there.
What did you do after Loring? Finally attended UPT and flew C-130's for 12 years.  Then Assigned to fly Gulfstreams at Andrews AFB with the 89th AW.  Now I fly corporate in Salt Lake City.
